(LOUISVILLE)— Dr. Juan Weksler, a board certified interventional cardiologist with advanced fellowship training, has joined Avista Adventist Hospital’s medical staff and new practice, Flatirons Heart and Vascular in Louisville. Avista and Flatirons are part of Centura Health’s prestigious statewide cardiac care network.
Dr. Weksler takes a preventive, whole person approach to care, and uses the latest technology to fight advanced heart and vascular disease with minimally invasive techniques. He specializes in the treatment of all aspects of cardiac care, including endovascular medicine and intervention, treating blockages in arteries from within using high-tech techniques like stents, balloons, lasers and atherectomy. He is also skilled in cardiac catheterization and many other specialized cardiac procedures.
A graduate of Texas A&M University College of Medicine, Dr. Weksler completed a residency in internal medicine at Indiana University. He earned a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, and another in interventional cardiology at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. He holds certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Weksler is fluent in both English and Spanish, and enjoys mountain climbing, camping, snow and water skiing and racquetball.
