ENGLEWOOD, CO (April 4, 2012) – Allen Kemp, MD, MBA, has joined Centura Health, Colorado’s largest hospital and health care network, as president and chief executive officer of its statewide, clinically-integrated multi-specialty physician group. In his role, Kemp will be responsible for executing the strategies and tactics for the Centura Health Physician Group (CHPG), closely coordinating and linking with all Centura Health hospitals and operating entities, while fostering partnerships and alliances with other organizations that connect CHPG’s nearly 400 practices and 80 plus locations across Colorado to other community assets.
ABOUT DR. ALLEN KEMP
- Dr. Kemp earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and earned his MBA from Regis University. He completed an internship at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., as well as a residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.
- For the past several years, Dr. Kemp has been managing director of physician strategy at Navigant Consulting, a national consulting firm based in Chicago, where he has worked with key health care clients, addressing critical business issues and enhancing value. Previously, Dr. Kemp also served as executive vice president and chief medical officer at ERDMAN, where he created new consulting models, methodologies, products, services, and secured new consulting engagements.
- For more than 27 years, Dr. Kemp worked for Dean Health System, Madison, W.I., first as clinical anesthesiologist and then as physician administrator. He later served in several key executive roles, including chair and chief executive officer of Dean Health System, Inc. and chair of Dean Health Plan.
- Dr. Kemp has served on the board of directors of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) from 2000 to 2008; and served as chair in 2007. He currently serves as a director on the AMGA foundation board, and recently served as the interim senior associate dean at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, N.Y.
